Hello World!

Alright! I have arrived. This is my first stream of conscience blog. To write about my silly thoughts, dramatic episodes, and crazy life. I have some to the most interesting conversations and have found myself in some of the craziest situations . . . that I really need to share this with the world. Let’s get the ball rolling . . .

Revirginization . . . What?!!

Just last Friday, a friend and I were chatting about relationships.  Somehow we went from why he and his fiancee split a couple of months ago to the popularity of . . . REVIRGINIZATION.  He told me about girls he knew in his city who were taking classes to those who were actually having surgery to become virgins again.  He mentioned that it was quite popular in the greater Atlanta area and is supported by many churches and even advertising.  My mouth just dropped!  How, and why, in fact, would a Christian (in my case) desire to take classes and even consider surgery to become a virgin once more.   A little side research took me to this: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23254178/

Yes, a little more insight.  But I still don’t understand what or why this would appeal to an American born and raised, Christian woman.  My instant and uninformed response was that once again the modern church or just pure American greed has found another way to prey on women.  Okay, okay . . . YES  . . . one’s virginity is a very precious thing and should  not be given to anyone.  If Christian, one should abstain from sex until marriage.  So I’m throwing it in there . . . but truly if a woman has the full knowledge of the Word of God, she would recognize that salvation has forgiven her of her sins and that the old man is made new.  The blood of the lamb, Jesus Christ, has washed all of us clean.  That is what the Christian woman should know.  That is what her belief system should be.  And if she feels guilty and condemned, it is definitely not God.  Need I provide the scripture to back this up?

I am shocked and amazed at the lengths that the church and big business will take to exploit the emotions of women as a means of making money.  Ladies, Christian ladies . . . let’s progress and get beyond our past.  We cannot change it.   We cannot go back to it.  But we can change and influence our today and tomorrow.  Make better, wiser decisions / choices today.
